Products & specification

What does SE KD mean? +

SE KD stands for Square Edged (SE) and Kiln Dried (KD). Square edged means the timber has been sawn to a clean rectangular section — as opposed to waney edge (live edge) boards which retain the natural curve of the trunk. Kiln dried means the moisture content has been reduced to a stable level in a controlled kiln environment.

Do you supply Envoronmentally certified timber? +

Yes, FSC® & PEFC certified options are available across our product range. If your project requires certified material, please let us know when enquiring and we'll confirm availability. Our certificate number is available on request.

What is Accoya® and why is it more expensive? +

Accoya® is a modified wood product made from radiata pine that has been acetylated — a process that permanently changes the cell structure to make it dimensionally stable, highly durable, and resistant to decay. It comes with a 50-year above-ground guarantee and outperforms most tropical hardwoods in external applications. The additional cost reflects the processing and performance guarantee, not just the raw material.

What is Rezult MR-MDF and how is it different from standard MDF? +

Rezult is a high-density, moisture-resistant MDF. Compared to standard MDF, it's denser throughout, machines more cleanly (better arris on routed edges), has better moisture resistance, and takes paint and primer more consistently. It's the preferred specification for kitchen doors, window boards, and any application where standard MDF would be unsuitable due to moisture or high-quality finish requirements.

Do you supply finished or planed timber? +

No. We supply raw sawn timber only. We're not a processing or machining operation. Our customers typically machine and process to their own specification.

Do you carry all the listed products in stock? +

We carry significant stock across our range, but specific sections and lengths can vary. Always call ahead to confirm availability before visiting or placing an order. Our stock position changes regularly.
