What SE KD means
Square Edged, Kiln Dried
Our timber is typically supplied as square edged — sawn to a clean rectangular section, not waney edge — and kiln dried to a consistent moisture content.
For the trade, that means predictable performance. Timber that won't move unexpectedly, machines cleanly, and can be specified with confidence.
Square Edged (SE)
Sawn to a clean rectangular section throughout — not waney edge.
Kiln Dried (KD)
Moisture content reduced to a stable level (typically 12–18% for structural timber). Less movement, better machining, improved finish.
FSC® & PEFC Certified
