About European Oak Prime
European Oak (Quercus robur / petraea) at Prime grade — clear faces with limited knots and defects. One of the most widely used hardwoods in the UK: excellent durability (Class 2), good bending strength, and distinctive grain with pronounced ray fleck. Supplied SE KD. Suitable for windows, external doors, furniture, structural beams, staircases, and internal joinery. Note: Oak tannins cause blue-black staining in contact with iron fixings — use stainless steel or galvanised.
